Mendy Kong

2020 Fall Communications Intern

"Working at OCA really gave me insight on what Asian advocacy looks like on a national scale. I was able to contribute many ideas and build my skills, be it in terms of video, magazine layout, and marketing. I really appreciated how welcoming and how accommodating my supervisors were, as it was all virtual. This opportunity definitely gave me the foundation and confidence to pursue other internships so I can never be grateful enough for the people I was lucky enough to meet during my time at OCA."

Ania Ty

2020 Fall Youth Programs Intern

“My experience as a Youth Programs Intern during OCA’s Fall 2020 cohort was incredibly empowering. As a Pinay and 1.5 generation immigrant, I always felt that the voices and stories of my communities were excluded or wildly misrepresented. It was an amazing opportunity to create programming around topics I had always wanted to learn and dialogue with other impassioned students about pressing issues. I would recommend the experience to any student interested in youth empowerment, community engagement, and education.”
