  • June Jee: OCA - New York

    June Jee has remained deeply committed to community service. In addition to her current role at OCA - New York where she previously served as chapter president, she also held National leadership positions with OCA National as National Vice President of Education and Culture and National Vice President of Chapter Development. Her passion for community empowerment has helped grow OCA - New York’s impact through civic education, anti-racism training, cultural programming, and youth development. Her commitment to civic engagement, inclusion, and mentorship shines through in everything she does. June’s warmth, vision, and tireless effort have been a cornerstone of OCA - New York’s success this year.

    Terry Yaplee: OCA - Greater Seattle

    Terry Yaplee continues tirelessly serving OCA - Greater Seattle and other Seattle-area non-profit communities. He volunteered as a driver for Keiro, an AANHPI community assisted living and nursing home, and a local chapter of Nisei veterans recruited him as a “commander” to serve AANHPI veterans and their families. His audio-equipment knowledge is praised by USPS, his willingness to drive others, and most importantly, his availability and dependability when supporting OCA - Greater Seattle, enables them to implement successful events. He is an unsung hero who, despite childhood hardships and the debilitating effects of the Vietnam War battlefield and Agent Orange, continues to honorably and diligently serve others.

    Xuemo Lu: OCA - Detroit

    Xuemo Lu is an 82-year-old retiree from China and embodies the true spirit of an unsung hero. After a distinguished career in the medical profession, she moved to the United States in 2008 to care for her grandson. Despite leaving behind a career she loved, she has channeled her passion and energy into supporting her community through countless hours of volunteer work with the Association of Chinese Americans (ACA), specifically through their healthy vegetable garden and aca senior care shuttle. her dedication and altruistic spirit inspired many within the community, leading to the campaign raising $16,000, which exceeded 60% of their fundraising goal. her contributions extend beyond her tangible efforts; she is a source of inspiration and motivation for all who meet her. Her selfless acts and unwavering commitment to helping others.

    Lillian Gee: OCA - New York

    Lillian Gee was recruited to join OCA by her sister, Virginia. During COVID, Lillian knew she could provide support and service as New York City returned to normalcy.

    Stan Lou - OCA - Greater Washington D.C.

    Stan Lou is a lifetime member of OCA and has not only served in many roles with the chapter but also helped to establish the 1882 Foundation and their Talk Story Series which not only encourages people to tell their stories but serves as an educational opportunity for future generations to learn about their history.
