Compensation: $35,000 to $38,000/year, commensurate on experience

Overview of the Position:

The OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates seeks a full-time Program Associate. As a Program Associate you will be managing our professional development and leadership programs empowering AAPI professionals and womxn: B3: Build, Breakthrough, Believe, Womxn’s Initiative, MAAP: Mentoring Asian American Professionals. You will work with our partners across the country to plan, coordinate, and execute AAPI professional development programming.

In this role you will work with community leaders and inspiring figures to help empower AAPIs to thrive in their careers. You will become an expert in professional development curriculum planning, program management, and work with many diverse individuals across disciplines.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain, manage, and execute OCA’s MAAP, B3, Womxn’s Initiative, COMPASS, and programs that focus on professional development, leadership, and womxn empowerment

  • Build and maintain a national network of program alumni for assigned program portfolio in coordination with OCA’s Communication Associate

  • Build and maintain a strategic national network with AAPI business/employee resource groups, professional and community organizations, and organizational partners

  • Assist the Program Manager with the OCA Internship Program.

  • Assist the Program Manager and other staff with other events as necessary (OCA National Convention, Corporate Achievement Awards, National Board Meetings, JACL/OCA Leadership Summit)

  • Actively cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders such as funders, community partners, and OCA Chapters

  • Manage administrative duties as assigned including but not limited to: bookkeeping, financial management, answer phone calls, and answering general inquiries

You Are:

  • A passionate advocate for AAPI and other PoC communities

  • Intrinsically motivated to achieve and exceed goals

  • Capable of working without a blueprint

  • A natural leader and networker

  • An effective communicator in both written and verbal form

You Have:

  • 2+ years of professional experience

  • Experience in public speaking, teaching, or facilitating small and large group discussions

  • Knowledge of nonprofit, government, corporate, or another professional sector

  • Programmed and managed events for at least 100 people

  • A history of meeting or exceeding personal goals
