Sacramento, CA – OCA is excited to kick off the 2017 National Convention in the capitol city of California! This year’s theme is I3: Innovate, Inspire, Ignite.

From Thursday, August 3rd, through Saturday, August 5th, OCA will host various workshops and plenary sessions that are free and open to the public at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento. The workshops cover leadership development and advocacy training for youth and college students, Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) women, and working professionals. Plenary sessions include topics such as immigration, technology, and education.

“I look forward to Convention because it is a wonderful gathering of mentors and mentees, of current and future leaders. The OCA’s Convention provides a safe space in which everyone is able to speak freely and openly about difficult topics, engage in professional and leadership development, and make new connections,” said Sharon M. Wong, OCA National President. “The goal is that attendees leave convention inspired or ignited with innovative ideas to help lead the AAPI community.”
