"Showcase of the Stars" - 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
At this year’s youth track conference, "Stars” from the McDonald’s Corporation will showcase an array of executive positions that are often unfamiliar to students. The panelists are poised to share success stories and leadership insights, empowering students to be competitive in today’s employment landscape.  Motivated by the continued success of Showcase events, MFHA is committed to keep bringing the inspiring program to more venues, impacting even more High School and College students, and continuing to connect them with the industry’s brand leaders.

"Roadmap to Success” - 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Whether students are freshmen or seniors, it's never too early to start thinking about life beyond high school. Community involvement, effective goal setting and finding mentors are important factors to succeeding in life beyond high school. As students prepare for their journeys after high school, it's important to help them start thinking about where they want to go, what they want be/do and what steps they should take to achieve those goals.

LUNCH - 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

"Embracing the APA Identity” - 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

High school can be an incredibly transformative time for students. Students are exposed to a variety of "firsts," learn more about their interests and become increasingly aware of the factors that shape their identities. In this workshop, students will learn about APA history and identity and also how to embrace their own identity.

        "Navigating College” - 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

College can be a scary and unfamiliar place to many students who aren't sure what to expect. This workshop will give students an overview of 5 factors to succeed in college: Campus engagement/organizing, utilizing campus resources, finding mentors, career planning and student-life balance.

”The Power of You!” - 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Who are you and where do you fit in society? Join us in a conversation about identity, power and privilege, and how to be a socially responsible AAPI in 21st Century America.

"College 101: Get Tips from the Experts” - 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

This workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to learn from the college experiences of OCA Intern alumni. It will also help students best prepare for college and maximize available resources on campus. Discussion topics will include: transition from high school to college, choosing a major, student leadership experiences, their transition into the workforce and more.

Youth Leadership Training
Cost: FREE

Registration and Breakfast - 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
"Race Relations, Riots and Reconciliation” - 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Given recent events in Baltimore, it’s clear that people don’t see eye to eye on race. This workshop will explore how we can bridge the gap between peoples of different backgrounds. Attend this session to learn how to navigate the system when the cards are stacked against you.

       "Excellency in Advocacy” - 1:45 PM - 3:15 PM

Public policy touches every aspect of our lives, but is extremely difficult to understand. This workshop will provide an insider’s perspective on how to influence lawmakers. You will learn from experienced leaders on how to advocate and articulate the social change you wish to see in your community.

       "Artful Activism” - 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

This workshop/panel will allow students to learn about activism through different mediums of art such as dance, poetry, music, literature, theatre/acting. Students will also have a chance to create an art piece that addresses a social issue important to them (hopefully to be displayed somewhere at Convention or in a local APIA community).
