Susie Y. Wong is the chair of the Sacramento Regional Coalition for Tolerance, a program co-founded by OCA Sacramento in partnership with state Senate President pro Tempore Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento). Wong is a public affairs consultant in Sacramento with a focus on energy and law enforcement, as well as government and multicultural relations. She recently launched the Western Region Asians in Telecommunications and Energy, or WRATE, toproactively engage Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders on issues which positively impact these communities in the development of policies, new technologies, funding, inclusion and diversity programs, and environmental justice.
Wong previously served more than 7 years in Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Administration as an executive in the areas of environment,energy and financial services, as well as participating on the team leading AAPI outreach in the state. She led the award winning statewide energy efficiency and conservation campaign to business and industry during the 2001 energy crisis.
She also has an extensive background in political affairs, including a key role on successful statewide ballot initiatives in the areas of healthcare, tort reform and insurance coverage, and formerly was a TV and print reporter.
