RESOLUTION OF ORGANIZATION OF CHINESE AMERICANS RECOGNIZING WORLD WAR II ATROCITIES 
ADOPTED BY OCA NATIONAL BOARD
August 1, 1999  

WHEREAS OCA, a civil rights education and advocacy organization for Americans of Chinese and Asian descent, represents 44 local chapters and 35 college affiliates; and

WHEREAS as is true for Americans from any heritage, our members have a wide range of interests and concerns; and

WHEREAS
one of OCR's key missions is to promote civil rights, full participation in civic and public affairs, equal opportunity and other indices of fairness, and to strive towards fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of Chinese Americans and Asian Pacific Americans in the United States; and 

WHEREAS
OCA, on humanitarian principles, is against all human injustices including atrocities and war crimes committed; and 

WHEREAS among those who were directly or indirectly victimized by these atrocities are OCA members, their families, and other Americans; and 

WHEREAS in many cases, these atrocities continue to haunt and otherwise have an adverse impact on the lives of these individuals 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT OCA expresses its deepest sympathy to all OCA members and all Americans who suffered or lost loved ones as a result of these horrible calamities; and

FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED OCA recognizes the current national effort where it enhances the chances that Chinese Americans and all Americans will achieve a more just and fair resolution of their grievances; and 

FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED OCA commends individuals who are striving for a fair resolution on these issues to participate in a broad struggle for civil and human rights.
