The annual JACL (Japanese American Citizens League)/OCA Leadership Summit will be held onSaturday, March 16 - Tuesday, March 19, 2013.
15 OCA and 15 JACL members will be selected to spend three intensive training days in Washington, D.C. The leadership summit is designed to introduce OCA and JACL leaders to the political process by having them meet with members of Congress, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, Administation Officials, Government Agencies, as well as with OCA's and JACL's colleagues in the Washington, D.C. social justice community.
At the past summits, participants have met with Senator Daniel Inouye (HI), Senator Daniel Akaka (HI), Representatives Mike Honda (CA), David Wu (OR), Mazie Hirono (HI), Xavier Becerra (CA), former Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, EEOC Commissioner Stuart Ishimaru, among others.
OCA members are strongly encouraged to apply for participating in the summit. It has proven to be extremely helpful to members in realizing how OCA chapters can most effectively work with OCA National Center on issues important to the APA community.
All interested participants must complete and submit an application form and materials.

Location: Washington, D.C.
Eligibility: OCA Executive Council, National Board Members, and Chapter Board Members who have paid their current OCA membership dues. (Note:Only ONE application from each chapter should be submitted)
Cost: $150 registration fee includes meals and accommodations. Applicants are responsible for their own travel to the summit.
