Nicholas Kor is a community organizer with OutFront Minnesota, Minnesota’s leading LGBT nonprofit organization. In 2011, he received his undergraduate degree in music from the University of St. Thomas. Soon afterwards, he joined the Minnesotans United for All Families campaign as an organizer, working to defeat a ballot initiative that would constitutionally ban marriage for same‐sex couples in Minnesota. On the campaign, Nick was the lead developer and implementer of the Let Your Friends kNOw program, an innovative campaign program designed to train thousands of supporters to have heartfelt and personal conversations about the marriage amendment. Following their historic victory, Nick continued on with Minnesotans United, organizing grassroots Minnesotans to successfully lobby their legislators to pass a law legalizing marriage for same‐sex couples in Minnesota.
Nick currently serves on the Board of Directors for Shades of Yellow (SOY), a Hmong LGBTQ nonprofit based in St. Paul, MN. He is an advocate of social justice and believes in the power of grassroots people to affect the changes they want to see in their own lives. In the summer of 2011 Nick was summer intern at the OCA National Center. He is happy to be back at Convention this year to reunite with his OCA family. Nick enjoys Chinese food, Star Wars, and long walks on the beaches of Minnesota.
