Washington, D.C. – OCA, a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans (APAs), will host the National Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Awards, honoring eight APA leaders in the corporate sector.

This year, OCA will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary and the first national program of its kind to recognize corporate achievement and service by honoring the dedication and leadership of APA corporate employees. Since its establishment in 1991 by the OCA Business Advisory Council, 190 community-conscious corporate leaders have been inducted to this prestigious group.
"OCA is proud to recognize and celebrate these individuals in the corporate sector who have embraced our mission by being leaders in their communities and by being committed to strengthening diversity in the workplace,” said OCA National President Ken Lee.
Honorees are first nominated by their respective employers and then selected by a panel of judges. This year, eight honorees have been chosen to receive the award. They are:
Jatinder Ronny Bindra – Vice President Global Business Analytics, Kraft Foods
Ronald Chang – Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions, UPS
Wanda Denson-Low – Senior Vice President, Office of Internal Governance, The Boeing Company
Myra Doria – Vice President – General Manager, West Division, McDonald’s
Johnnie Giles – Executive Director of External Affairs for Comcast Corporation and Vice President of External Affairs for Comcast Cable, Comcast
Awan Kazi – Agency Field Consultant, State FarmDinesh Popat – Vice President, Marketing, Service Model Transformation, Avon Products, Inc.
Satoshi Watanabe – Senior Vice President, Cross-Border Governance, Wells Fargo
OCA will also recognize one recipient for Community Service as well as the 2011 Outstanding Corporate Partner of the Year.
Prior to the dinner, OCA will host the 3rd annual APA young professional’s event B3: Build, Breakthrough and Believe. The event will feature panel sessions and opportunities for participants to network with other APA professionals.
