OCA, a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans, is disturbed Miley Cyrus has refused to acknowledge the concerns of the Asian Pacific American community after being photographed with friends making a slant-eye gesture. OCA hoped Cyrus would swiftly apologize for this offensive act, but she seems to be writing it off as making a "goofy face."
Cyrus' blog post was not a suitable response and she was clearly trying to dismiss the Asian Pacific American community's call for an apology. OCA calls on the Asian Pacific American community as well as all concerned citizens to join us in demanding a real apology from Miley Cyrus. To sign a petition asking Miley Cyrus to respond appropriately to our concerns, please visit http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/mileycyrusapology/.
