Voting is the primary vehicle for communities to demonstrate their political influence. It is more critical than ever before for the Asian Pacific American community to engage themselves in the political process and capitalize on the turnout from the 2012 and 2008 election cycle. OCA Chapters have an opportunity to encourage citizens we help naturalize become civically engaged. This workshop will provide an overview of voting rights and laws to ensure that any registration and mobilization efforts are legal and effective. Additionally, it will help participants create/enhance their own voter registration and mobilization strategies for their civic engagement efforts while strategically planning for developing Citizenship and Civic Engagement capacity building funding for chapters.
