Call for 2015 OCA National Convention Youth and College Track Workshop Proposals
OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates is seeking general workshop proposals for its Youth and College Tracks at the 2015 OCA National Convention. The Convention will be held at the Hilton Union Square in San Francisco, California on July 2 – 5, focusing on the theme “Unifying Asian Pacific Islander America.”
Every year, the OCA National Convention brings together hundreds of APA advocates and students from
across the country to engage, teach and connect on key issues affecting the APA community.
Our Youth and College Tracks are specifically designed to engage young APA students on issues important to them. The tracks will be held on Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3. One of the two days will be Youth Leadership Day and College Leadership Day, and the other will be Youth Day and College Day.
Workshop proposals should educate and empower students on various topics such as leadership, professional development, college success, advocacy, culture, history, identity and more. Workshops are typically 1 hour and 15 minutes with little limitation to design or style. OCA encourages workshops that are thoughtful, innovative, interactive and challenging to a new generation of APA students. To apply, please fill out the form BELOW and indicate whether the workshop is for HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS or COLLEGE STUDENTS.
For additional information or questions, please contact Tong Thao, Civil Rights Fellow at email@example.com OR Monica Lee, Program Associate at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your interest! The workshop submission is now CLOSED.
