WASHINGTON, D.C. – OCA – Asian Pacific Advocates welcomes its 27th intern cohort this summer at its national headquarters in Washington, D.C.
On Monday, OCA – Asian Pacific Advocates received the Summer Internship Class of 2016. OCA interns are placed within Congressional offices, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations over the course of 10 weeks, connecting them with opportunities to further their personal and professional development and prepare them for a lifetime of advocacy. Now in its 27th year, OCA’s internship program has provided high-quality leadership training to hundreds of promising students in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
“OCA is pleased to announce its acceptance of 19 new interns for the 2016 summer program,” said Leslie Moe-Kaiser, OCA National President. “Our ultimate goal for all of our interns is to give them the tools they need to be successful within their chosen profession and also within the world of Asian Pacific American advocacy. Their placements in offices across DC reflect the diverse social, political, and economic forces that interact with our community. We look forward to watching them grow and learn this summer so that they may become agents of change within their own communities.”
